Shawna Hays

Designer | Ceramist | Brewer

Raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Shawna recently relocated to New Orleans after living in Fort Collins, CO for three years. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Studio Practice with a cross discipline in ceramics. This major allowed her to focus on design while also following her passion for 3D art.

 Shawna has 7+ years of graphic design experience and 2 years of leadership experience at UWM Union Marketing office. After that she took on a 6 month internship where she learn more corporate design, following a strict brand and learning more about marketing. As a grad she is a freelance designer for Kerry Inc, a local furniture shop, and Sprecher Breweries new Tap Room that she started and runs with her coworkers. These jobs bring diverse new knowledge and she continues to seek out new opportunities to learn as much as she can.

Shawna’s fine art practices explore abstract, organic formed ceramic sculptures mostly with Raku glazed finishes. Her art reflects on her personal identity and is starting to dive into current political events. She is continue to work on bringing digital and ceramics together in her fine art processes.
